Contemplative walks. Stillness. Music. Wholeness. Rest. On an Albemarle farm.
Through eco-spirituality practices, we will experience the deep and animating connection that all living beings share. We will do this through contemplation, walking in silence, poetry, and music. Makshya Tolbert will be the retreat poet. Ms. Tolbert is an author, grower, and cook whose writing centers on food, black social life, and ecology. Born in Washington, DC, she earned an undergraduate degree at Stanford University and is an MFA candidate in poetry at the University of Virginia. David Lefkowitz will be the retreat musician. Mr. Lefkowitz is a folk musician and writer/reporter for RICtoday (Good news for Richmond). He is based in Richmond, Virginia, and earned an undergraduate degree in Religious Studies & Musicology from The College of William and Mary. His music can be found on Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp, and other streaming platforms. This is an outdoors retreat and will take place in a garden.
